ASTM/AAMA Spray Testing Training

Sovell Investigative Testing and Consulting Training

Sovell Investigative Testing and Consulting (SITC) is the first and only firm to develop a course curriculum to teach companies the procedures outlined in ASTM, AAMA and CSA standards. These standards are often misunderstood and misinterpreted. Also specifiers often have difficulty in choosing the correct standard for their projects. SITC combines classroom and hands on training in our state of the art training center to provide industry professionals with the correct tools, information and direction to fulfill their planned objectives. All companies have different directions and different objectives. Therefore SITC works with our client's to develop a training curriculum that will work for them. Listed below are some of the standards which can make up training based on needs of our client's. The class duration starts at two days for our basic training and up to five day advanced training.

  • ASTM International E1105-00 "Standard Test Method for Field Determination of Water Penetration of Installed Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and Curtain Walls by Uniform or Cyclic Static Air Pressure Difference"
  • ASTM International E2112-07 "Standard Practice for Installation of Exterior Windows, Doors and Skylights"
  • AAMA 502-90 "Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Windows and Sliding Glass Doors"
  • AAMA 502-02 "Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Windows and Sliding Glass Doors"
  • AAMA 502-08 "Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Fenestration Products"
  • AAMA 502-11 "Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Fenestration Products"
  • AAMA 511-08 "Voluntary Guideline for Forensic Water Penetration Testing of Fenestration Products"
  • AAMA 501.2-09 "Quality Assurance and Diagnostic Water Leakage Field Check of Installed Storefronts, Curtain Walls and Sloped Glazing Systems"
  • AAMA 503-08 "Voluntary Specification for Field Testing of Newly Installed Storefronts, Curtain Walls and Sloped Glazing Systems"
  • ASTM International E2128-12 "Standard Guide for Evaluating Water Leakage of Building Walls"

SITC starts the training process by talking with our client. The information gathering assists us in developing the correct class curriculum. Once we have assessed our client's needs, the next step is to discuss class size. SITC has a solid history in teaching. SITC will not teach a class larger than six people at a time. We want everyone in the class to walk away with the same information.

Scheduling classes can be a challenge for any size company. Being away from the desk or from the field for just a few days can be chaotic. SITC works with our client's to make scheduling as simple as possible. Your work week scheduled out with no free time? No problem. We conduct classes on the weekends. We will work with you closely to schedule the best times possible.

Intermediate three day training ($6,000):

This training covers the basics for water penetration and air infiltration testing. Hands on training covering water penetration and air infiltration training.  We also cover the calibration for the test kit and water calibration for the spray rack

Advanced four day training ($7,000):

This training covers an in depth look into water penetration and air infiltration testing. We also cover the calibration for the test kit and water calibration for the spray rack. We provide assistance in assembling an internal auditing system for equipment calibration. Data gathering. Maintenance on equipment. Witness testing. Buck building and specimen mounting. Design pressure analysis.

Masters level five day training ($8,000):

This covers air/water/structural. Field standards. Laboratory standards. The works. All of the extra services that we offer are free including the following: all eight templates, water penetration reports, water penetration data sheets, water penetration contract for clients, air infiltration reports, air infiltration data sheets, air infiltration calibration sheets, destructive data sheets and design pressure analysis data sheet. ($2,300.00 value).
